MAG Group to Sponsor 2025 UAE Wooden Powerboat Championship in Landmark Deal
The UAE Marine Sports Federation has signed a strategic sponsorship agreement with MAG Group Holding, naming the company the official sponsor of the 2025 UAE Wooden Powerboat Championship (Al Shawaheef).
The deal, signed by Ahmed Al Sheryani, Secretary-General of the Federation, and Moafaq Al Gaddah, Founder and Chairman of MAG Group, marks a significant move toward elevating Al Shawaheef racing into a Gulf-wide sporting institution. Several senior officials attended the signing.
This partnership aims to leverage private sector expertise to expand the sport across the GCC, secure its future, and strengthen its role in promoting Emirati heritage.
A key part of the agreement is the launch of the “Shawaheef Ambassadors” initiative, which will attract and train youth from across the region. The program seeks to empower the next generation by providing a competitive platform that blends traditional Emirati sports with modern athleticism.
Al Sheryani described the partnership as a major step forward:
“We are proud to partner with MAG Group Holding. This reflects our shared commitment to promoting national identity through homegrown sports. The Ambassadors of Al Shawaheef initiative offers young racers an opportunity to explore their creativity while staying connected to their roots.”
Al Gaddah added,
“Our commitment extends beyond business. Sponsoring the Al Shawaheef Championship underscores our dedication to cultural preservation and youth empowerment.”
The collaboration sets the stage for a new era in marine sports, positioning wooden powerboat racing as a unifying cultural symbol across the Gulf.
