A Lebanese soldier has been killed and several others wounded following an Israeli strike on a military checkpoint, according to the Lebanese army, marking a further spillover of the intensifying conflict between Israel and Iran.

The escalation comes amid a series of coordinated and retaliatory attacks across the region. In northern Israel, a fire broke out at the Bazan oil refinery in Haifa after debris from an intercepted Iranian missile struck an industrial facility and a fuel tanker, raising concerns over potential industrial hazards.

Meanwhile, the conflict has widened beyond direct Israel–Iran exchanges. In Kuwait, authorities confirmed the death of an Indian worker after an Iranian strike targeted a power and desalination plant. Across the Gulf, several states reported successfully intercepting incoming drones and missiles.

In Iran, US-Israeli strikes hit a petrochemical facility in Tabriz and caused power outages in parts of Tehran, while Iranian forces launched attacks on an industrial zone in southern Israel, sparking fires and fears of a possible chemical leak.

Adding to the tension, United States President Donald Trump stated in a recent interview that he would consider seizing Iranian oil resources, as Tehran accuses Washington of preparing for a potential ground offensive despite ongoing diplomatic signals.

The latest developments highlight a rapidly expanding conflict with increasing regional and global implications, as military actions intensify and civilian and infrastructure targets come under growing threat.
