Israel steps up West Bank assault; Hamas slams Trump plan to buy Gaza

Hamas condemns US President Donald Trump’s renewed offer to buy and own Gaza, warning him that tackling the “Palestinian issue with the mentality of a real estate dealer is a recipe for failure”.
Israeli forces kill four people, including an elderly woman, in the Gaza Strip, as Palestinians continue to return to the ruins of their homes in the north after Israel’s military withdraws from the Netzarim Corridor.
Israeli forces shoot dead three Palestinians, including a pregnant woman, in the Nur Shams refugee camp as they step up their assault on the occupied West Bank.
Israel’s war on Gaza has killed a confirmed 48,189 people and wounded 111,640, according to the territory’s Health Ministry. Gaza’s Government Media Office has updated the death toll to at least 61,709 people, saying thousands who were missing under the rubble are now presumed dead. At least 1,139 people were killed in Israel during the October 7, 2023 attacks and more than 200 were taken captive.
