Israel bombs Syria air bases, kills 23 in predawn attacks on Gaza

Israel continues bombarding Gaza for an eighth consecutive day, killing at least 23 people in predawn attacks, including seven children.
Israeli forces also bomb two Syrian air bases near the city of Palmyra for the second time in a week.
Outrage grows over Israel’s killing of Al Jazeera reporter Hossam Shabat in Gaza and the arrest of Oscar-winning filmmaker Hamdan Ballal in the occupied West Bank.
Gaza’s Health Ministry says at least 50,082 Palestinians are confirmed dead and 113,408 wounded in Israel’s war on Gaza. Gaza’s Government Media Office updated its death toll to more than 61,700, saying thousands of Palestinians missing under the rubble are presumed dead.
At least 1,139 people were killed in Israel during the Hamas-led October 7, 2023 attacks and more than 200 were taken captive.
