Dubai: Some UAE residents woke up to dense fog this morning. The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a fog alert for parts of the UAE, warning of reduced visibility from 2.30am to 8.30am today, particularly over some coastal and internal areas westward. Motorists are urged to exercise extreme caution as fog may significantly deteriorate horizontal visibility in the early morning hours.
The Abu Dhabi Police, via their official X (formerly Twitter) account, called on drivers to adhere to changing speed limits displayed on electronic boards and drive safely during fog-prone periods.
Meanwhile, extreme heat conditions continue to grip the nation. According to AccuWeather, Abu Dhabi is experiencing high temperatures, with highs soaring to 46°C. Residents are strongly advised to stay indoors during peak afternoon hours. Tonight, temperatures are expected to drop only slightly, with a low of 35°C and partly cloudy skies.
Dubai is facing similarly intense heat, with a high of 46°C and breezy conditions expected this afternoon, with skies mostly sunny. Nighttime temperatures will hover around 34°C, remaining uncomfortably warm.
