Emirates is set to launch a daily non-stop service between Dubai and Hangzhou starting 30 July, marking a significant expansion of its footprint in mainland China and reinforcing its role in connecting global economic hubs.

The new route makes Hangzhou Emirates’ fifth destination in China, joining Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai, and Shenzhen. Operated by a three-class Boeing 777-300ER, the service will offer 2,478 weekly seats, enhancing both passenger and cargo connectivity between the Middle East and East Asia.

Flight EK310 will depart Dubai at 09:40 and arrive in Hangzhou at 22:00. The return flight, EK311, will leave Hangzhou at 00:10 and land in Dubai at 04:55. The flight times are strategically scheduled to offer seamless connections to key cities across Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and South America.

Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, described the new route as a “pivotal moment” for the airline’s operations in East Asia. He highlighted Hangzhou’s role as a rising global hub for innovation and advanced manufacturing, which aligns with Emirates’ broader strategy of strengthening economic links with high-growth markets.

Home to e-commerce giant Alibaba, Hangzhou is a major player in China’s digital economy. In 2024, its core digital industries generated over AED 1 trillion in revenue, accounting for nearly 29% of the city’s GDP. With cross-border e-commerce exports expected to exceed AED 70 billion by 2026, the city offers a strong growth corridor for both business and tourism.

Emirates SkyCargo will also benefit from the new route, enabling faster, more efficient movement of high-value goods. This latest move brings Emirates’ total weekly flights to China to 49, underscoring its long-term commitment to the Belt and Road Initiative and deepening UAE-China trade and travel ties.
