Dubai Welcomes 16.79 Million International Tourists in 2024, Marking 9% Growth
Dubai has experienced a significant 9% increase in international tourist arrivals during the first 11 months of 2024, welcoming 16.79 million visitors compared to 15.37 million during the same period in 2023, according to the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism’s latest report.
The data reveals that Dubai received 1.83 million international tourists in November alone, continuing a steady influx throughout the year, with January recording 1.77 million and February seeing 1.9 million visitors. The city also experienced consistent tourism numbers in the following months, with October reaching 1.67 million arrivals.
Western Europe led as the top source region, contributing 3.3 million visitors, making up 20% of total arrivals, followed by South Asia at 17%, with 2.86 million tourists. The GCC region ranked third with over 2.5 million visitors, while the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and Eastern Europe accounted for 14% with 2.35 million tourists.
The hotel sector in Dubai also showed strong growth, with the number of hotel rooms reaching 153,390 by the end of November, up from 149,685 in 2023. Hotel bookings surged 3% to 39.19 million nights, reflecting a positive tourism trend. The average length of stay for guests stood at 3.6 nights.
The growth in Dubai’s tourism sector is further reflected in the rising average daily rate (ADR), which rose 2% to AED 520, while revenue per available room (RevPAR) saw a 3% increase to AED 405.
With a diverse range of visitors from across the globe, Dubai continues to solidify its position as a premier global travel destination.
