While most young professionals move to the city to build their careers, many initially leave their families behind. However, once they become established, many wish to bring their parents to enjoy Dubai’s quality healthcare, safety, and lifestyle.
To make this possible, residents can now apply for a one-year residency visa to sponsor their parents. The following information applies to applicants working in mainland Dubai.
Minimum Requirements
Monthly salary: Dh10,000 or more
Housing: A two-bedroom home registered with Ejari
Documents Required
For the Entry Permit Application:
Original Emirates ID
Passport copy and passport external page copy
Labour contract showing salary
For Sponsorship:
Parents’ passport copies
Parents’ recent passport-size photos (white background)
Proof of relationship, which can be:
a. An attested birth certificate (from home country’s foreign affairs ministry, UAE embassy, and UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs), or
b. A relationship letter issued by your home country’s consulate and attested by both the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and your consulate in the UAE
Copy of Ejari certificate (for a two-bedroom home)
Stamped three-month bank statement

Security deposit: Dh5,000
File opening charge (one time): Dh283
Entry permit: Dh440 per parent
Medical test: Dh322
Emirates ID: Dh317
Residence visa: Dh410
