The Dubai Press Club has announced a strategic partnership with United Arab Emirates University (UAEU), appointing the institution as the Academic Partner for the Arab Media Summit 2026 in a move aimed at strengthening collaboration between academia and the media industry.
The announcement coincides with UAEU’s Golden Jubilee, marking 50 years of contributions to higher education, research, and national development in the UAE.
The Summit is scheduled to take place from March 31 to April 2 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, under the patronage of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and under the directives of Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
The partnership reflects a shared commitment to supporting the transformation of the media sector while reinforcing cooperation between educational institutions and media organisations. It also underscores Dubai’s role as a regional and global platform for media dialogue, industry development, and digital innovation.
Through the collaboration, UAEU will contribute its research expertise, academic programmes, and talent development capabilities to enhance the Summit’s knowledge-driven dimension. The initiative will also provide students and academics with opportunities to engage directly with international media leaders and decision-makers.
UAEU Chancellor Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh said the university’s participation aligns with its national mission and longstanding support for Arab media as a driver of knowledge, cultural dialogue, and social awareness. He noted that the future of media and education are increasingly interconnected, with universities playing a central role in shaping critical thinkers and future media leaders capable of navigating a rapidly evolving global information environment.
He added that UAEU’s involvement will spotlight its expanding work in digital media research, the application of artificial intelligence in mass communication, and efforts to prepare a new generation of media professionals equipped for the digital era.
Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Vice Chairperson and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council and President of the Dubai Press Club, congratulated UAEU on its Golden Jubilee, describing the milestone as a testament to five decades of advancing knowledge and nurturing talent in the UAE.
She said the partnership enhances the Summit’s impact and highlights the importance of collaboration between national institutions in driving media growth and talent development, particularly as the sector undergoes rapid change fuelled by digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and accelerating content innovation.
As part of its role, UAEU will deliver an integrated knowledge programme during the Summit, including dialogue sessions, panel discussions, and specialised training workshops. An interactive platform will also facilitate the exchange of practical experiences among academics, students, and media professionals.
The partnership aligns with broader national efforts to integrate higher education with the media sector, contribute to a sustainable knowledge economy, and equip future media professionals with advanced skills, research capabilities, and strong professional values.
