Dubai Municipality completed more than 25,000 field inspections in the first half of 2025, marking a 36% rise from the same period last year.
Covering over 18,800 buildings under construction and more than 36 million square metres of built-up area, the inspections reflect the city’s continued growth and its focus on safety and quality.
The Municipality reported a 96% compliance rate, issuing 1,669 building completion certificates — up 30% from 2024 — including villas, multi-storey buildings, and industrial facilities that added around 2 million square metres of new space across Dubai.
Eng. Maryam Al Muhairi, CEO of the Buildings Regulation and Permits Agency, said precise engineering oversight remains key to advancing Dubai as the world’s smartest and most sustainable construction hub, enhancing quality of life and attracting global investment.
Sustainability efforts included using 1.5 million cubic metres of green concrete, recycling 16.4 million cubic metres of soil, and issuing thousands of sand transport permits to optimise resources. These initiatives align with Dubai’s vision to combine innovation, governance, and regulatory flexibility, reinforcing its status as a global leader in sustainable urban development.
