Dubai, UAE — March 11, 2026: Authorities in Dubai have issued a public safety guide aimed at helping residents and visitors respond calmly and safely if emergency alerts are sent to their mobile phones.
In a statement released by the Dubai Government Media Office, officials reassured the public that the emirate remains safe and continues to operate normally. The guidance, however, outlines precautionary steps individuals should follow should they receive emergency notifications from the UAE Ministry of Interior.
According to the advisory, people who receive alerts while outdoors are encouraged to remain calm and immediately move indoors to the nearest building. Authorities emphasized the importance of avoiding open areas, balconies, and windows. Individuals are also advised to stay away from exterior walls and glass panels for added safety.
Motorists who receive alerts while driving are urged to proceed carefully to the nearest indoor location, ensuring they avoid stopping in open spaces where they may be exposed.
The safety guide also provides instructions for those already inside buildings, including homes and offices. Residents are advised to move further inside the building and stay away from open areas, balconies, and windows while waiting for an official “all clear” message from authorities.
In addition, officials recommend paying attention to announcements made through building public-address systems or instructions issued by building security personnel. The use of elevators should be avoided unless specifically directed by authorities, and individuals should remain clear of glass barriers and large glass surfaces.
The Media Office further urged the public to rely only on verified information issued by official government channels. Residents were cautioned against sharing unconfirmed messages, voice notes, or videos circulating on social media that may cause unnecessary panic or confusion.
Authorities stressed that people should remain where they are until they receive a notification from the Ministry of Interior confirming that the situation has ended, after which normal activities can resume calmly.
The guidance comes as part of ongoing efforts by Dubai authorities to ensure public preparedness and maintain safety awareness while reassuring residents that life across the emirate continues as normal.
