Dubai Expands EV Charging Network to 1,270 Points, Reinforcing Green Mobility Leadership
Dubai now boasts over 1,270 electric vehicle (EV) charging points across the emirate, a milestone announced by HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA).

This extensive network, developed through public-private partnerships, reflects Dubai’s commitment to sustainable transport and supports national targets to make 50% of all vehicles electric or hybrid by 2050.

Launched in 2014, DEWA’s EV Green Charger initiative was the region’s first public charging network. The city has since expanded its infrastructure, now supporting over 40,600 registered EVs as of mid-2025. DEWA has introduced a comprehensive licensing system to encourage private sector investment and enable the operation of independent EV charging networks.

The Regulatory Framework for EV Charging Infrastructure ensures that Dubai maintains its leadership in green mobility, offering multiple development tracks and integrating smart digital services. DEWA also signed an agreement with Parkin to install charging stations at high-footfall locations, further enhancing convenience.

EV users can access charging stations via DEWA’s mobile app, website, and other digital channels, while the new “Dubai EV Community Hub” website serves as a central platform for EV resources and adoption in the emirate.
