Dubai Chamber of Commerce has supported Dubai-based logistics firm Al Sharqi Shipping in its expansion into Kenya and Uganda, reinforcing the emirate’s role in enabling local companies to access high-potential global markets.

The chamber’s Kenya office played a central role in facilitating the move by providing market intelligence, connecting the company with local partners, and advising on regulatory compliance, legal frameworks, and administrative processes.

Salem Al Shamsi, Vice President of International Relations at Dubai Chambers, said:

We are committed to enabling local companies to expand globally by strengthening their ties with promising international markets and strategic partners. This supports sustainable business growth and underlines our continued commitment to strengthening the competitiveness of Dubai’s private sector, enabling it to capitalise on high-potential opportunities both locally and internationally.
Kashif Rafiq, CEO of Al Sharqi Shipping, added:

With the UAE-Kenya Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) and the Dubai Chamber of Commerce’s efforts to support international business growth, we are working to expand our presence in East Africa—strengthening regional ties and contributing to Dubai’s wider trade aspirations.
Operating since 1989, Al Sharqi Shipping specialises in supply chain management, freight forwarding, and cargo consolidation. Its new offices in Kenya and Uganda will enable it to expand its services across African markets, from customs clearance to investment in local trucking infrastructure. The move aligns with the company’s strategy to diversify into key emerging markets.

Dubai Chamber of Commerce continues to play a vital role in supporting Dubai-based companies by offering market insights, sectoral intelligence, and strategic connections. Through its global network of offices, the chamber facilitates trade missions, connects businesses with international partners, and provides practical guidance for navigating new markets.
