Dubai is intensifying its drive toward sustainable mobility through a strategic partnership between Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) and Parkin Company. The collaboration focuses on expanding the emirate’s public electric vehicle (EV) charging network, improving accessibility, and enhancing customer experience, while reinforcing Dubai’s global leadership in green transport.
The first phase of the initiative will see the installation of 100 EV chargers at key locations across Dubai, including residential communities, shopping malls, leisure destinations, and public areas. This will be followed by a broader rollout to ensure comprehensive coverage and greater flexibility for EV users.
The agreement was signed during the Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) in the presence of HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, DEWA’s MD & CEO, and Ahmed Hashem Bahrozyan, Parkin’s Board Chairman. Majid Al Hazami, DEWA Director of Smart Grid PMO, and Mohamed Abdulla Al Ali, Parkin CEO, signed the contract, joined by senior officials from both organisations.
Al Tayer emphasized that the initiative aligns with the Dubai Green Mobility Strategy 2030, which aims to promote sustainable transport, reduce carbon emissions, and improve air quality. As of August 2025, DEWA operates more than 1,500 public charging points and serves over 19,000 registered users through its EV Green Charger network.
Bahrozyan highlighted the agreement as a landmark example of public-private cooperation that delivers long-term environmental and social value. Al Ali added that the project reflects Parkin’s evolution from conventional parking management to integrated urban space solutions, incorporating EV charging into daily life.
Under the agreement, Parkin will manage service delivery through its smart app, while DEWA will oversee the operation and performance of the chargers. The initiative is designed to offer a seamless customer experience with reliable service, technical support, and a clear operational framework.
