Dubai Announces Non-Profit Hospital for Workers Following Sheikh Hamdan’s Strategic Visit to India
Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s first official visit to India has sparked a series of strategic partnerships, including the launch of a not-for-profit hospital in Dubai and a virtual UAE-India trade corridor.

A key highlight is the announcement of the UAE-India Friendship Hospital (UIFH), dedicated to providing inclusive, accessible healthcare for blue-collar workers. The initiative, driven by Dubai Health in collaboration with five prominent Indian entrepreneurs, underscores the UAE’s commitment to social welfare and healthcare equity.

The UIFH founding trustees include Faizal Kottikollon (KEF Holdings), Nilesh Ved (Apparel Group), Siddharth Balachandran (Buimerc Corporation), Tariq Chauhan (EFS Facilities), and Ramesh S Ramakrishnan (Transworld Group)—all members of the UAE India Business Council – UAE Chapter. The agreement was signed in Mumbai by the trustees and Dr. Amer Sharif, CEO of Dubai Health, during a special event hosted by Dubai Chambers.

“This project holds deep meaning for the UAE’s diverse workforce,”
said Balachandran.

“I am honoured to be part of an initiative that brings real impact to lives.”
The visit also marked the signing of eight Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) between the UAE and India, aimed at boosting cooperation in sectors like healthcare, infrastructure, education, logistics, and maritime services.

Among them, a notable MoU between DP World and India’s RITES Ltd. seeks to develop robust, tech-driven supply chains and modern logistics infrastructure, aligning with both nations’ long-term economic goals.

Sheikh Hamdan’s two-day visit, hosted at the invitation of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was hailed as a “monumental” step in strengthening bilateral ties and fostering meaningful public-private partnerships.
