Dubai Airports Launches 10-Year Plan To Become World’s Most Accessible Travel Hub
Dubai Airports has unveiled the next phase of its accessibility strategy—a 10-year commitment to make Dubai International (DXB) and Al Maktoum International (DWC) the world’s most inclusive airports by 2035.

The initiative strengthens Dubai’s position as a global leader in accessible travel, aligning with international best practices and the UAE’s commitment to supporting People of Determination. It focuses on enhancing the travel experience at every stage, ensuring both airports cater to all guests with dignity and ease.

“Our commitment to accessibility is not just a promise; it is a core pillar of our mission to deliver a world-class travel experience for every guest,”
said Majed Al Joker, Chief Operating Officer at Dubai Airports.

“By working closely with the People of Determination community, we are setting a new global standard for accessible travel.”
The announcement coincides with a new awareness campaign, DXB for All, co-created with People of Determination. The campaign shares six real-life stories showcasing how guests with diverse needs navigate DXB, from sensory sensitivities to visual or hearing impairments. It builds on the earlier We All Meet the World Differently initiative launched in 2022, highlighting accessibility as a cultural mindset, not just infrastructure.

Featured advocates include Emirati accessibility pioneer Fatma Al Jassim, former Paralympic swimmer Jessica Smith, and Dubai mother Yasmin Carey with her son Ellis, among others.

The long-term effort involves collaboration across Dubai’s aviation ecosystem, including Emirates, flydubai, Dubai Police, and dnata. Current accessibility services range from sensory-friendly lounges and wheelchair assistance to visual travel planners and discreet Sunflower Lanyards that help staff identify guests needing extra support.

With this renewed strategy, Dubai Airports aims to make every journey through DXB and DWC an inclusive experience for all travelers.
