Dubai Criminal Court convicted the men, all of Pakistani nationality, of theft, unlawful entry, and impersonating law enforcement officers to intimidate and steal from two victims at the company’s office.

As per court records, the defendants, along with an unidentified accomplice, executed a premeditated plan to rob the company located in an apartment in a commercial building in Naif on March 7, 2024.
On the day of the incident, the three convicted men entered the building and proceeded to the company’s office on the second floor while the fourth defendant remained outside to act as a lookout.

The assailants ambushed the first victim, an Indian national, as he was unlocking the office door, forcibly pushing him inside and assaulting him.

Claiming to be criminal investigations officers, they seized his Samsung S32 Ultra phone, which contained an Indian SIM card valued at Dh3,100.

Shortly after, the second victim, also an Indian national, entered the office.

The intruders allowed him in before shutting the door behind him.

They took his iPhone 14 Pro and threatened him with consequences if he insisted on getting his phone back.
The assailants then stole Dh322,000 in cash from the office drawer, along with the surveillance camera recording device, before fleeing the scene.

Following a police report filed by the victims, Dubai Police’s Criminal Investigation Department launched an investigation, ultimately leading to the arrests of the four men.

Upon their apprehension, officers recovered Dh34,305 from three of the suspects.

Talking to police officers, the men confessed to their roles in the robbery, detailing how they divided the stolen money among themselves and their unidentified accomplice.

The first defendant admitted to receiving Dh10,000 from the stolen money, while the second and third defendants said their share was Dh20,000 each part of which was later recovered by the police.

During the trial the defendants denied the charges. However, the court convicted three of the men of all charges and sentenced them to one year in prison each followed by deportation.

Additionally, they were collectively fined Dh290,795 to compensate for the stolen funds. If they fail to pay the fine, they will spend an extra day in prison for each Dh100.

A fourth defendant, who had been accused of acting as a lookout, was found not guilty due to a lack of admissible evidence against him.
