Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) has signed a strategic partnership with South Korea’s National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA), marking a major step in expanding its presence across Asia and boosting collaboration in advanced technology and innovation.
The agreement, formalized during the DMCC Made For Trade Live event in Seoul, establishes a framework to accelerate cooperation in artificial intelligence and ICT. It will also provide tailored support for South Korean startups seeking to scale internationally through Dubai, including access to capital, market entry guidance, and integration into DMCC’s growing tech ecosystem.
DMCC views Seoul as a pivotal partner as South Korea continues to lead in digital infrastructure and advanced technologies. The partnership comes ahead of the UAE–Korea Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) taking full effect, which is expected to create stronger trade and investment flows between the two nations.
“With more than 110 Korean companies already operating in DMCC, this collaboration further strengthens Dubai’s position as the region’s preferred hub for Korean business,”
said Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman and CEO of DMCC.
Yun Kyu Park, President of NIPA, emphasized the agreement’s role in enhancing cooperation in artificial intelligence and enabling both markets to complement each other’s strengths.
DMCC is home to nearly 26,000 member companies and accounts for 15% of Dubai’s annual foreign direct investment inflows. Its technology ecosystem now houses almost 3,400 firms, underscoring its role as a global platform for startups and innovation-led enterprises.
