Dubai Electricity and Water Authority has been named the world’s top utility in corporate agility for the second consecutive year, reinforcing its position as a global leader in innovation and resilience.
The recognition comes from the Business Agility Institute, a non-profit that benchmarks organisations on agility, maturity, and adaptability.
The ranking also positioned DEWA as Dubai’s foremost government entity in institutional agility, highlighting its ability to implement agile practices efficiently across all divisions. The evaluation involved in-depth interviews with senior management and employee opinion polls.
HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, said the achievement reflects the authority’s ongoing efforts to foster a culture of agility aligned with Dubai’s strategic vision.
“This recognition demonstrates our ability to adapt to rapid change and turn challenges into opportunities that advance sustainable development,”
he stated.
DEWA’s approach combines organisational resilience with investments in Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies, including artificial intelligence, advanced analytics, and cloud computing. The authority has also emphasized leadership in clean and renewable energy, positioning itself as a model of agility in the utility sector.
Evan Leybourn, co-founder of the Business Agility Institute, praised DEWA’s commitment to customer-centric innovation. He noted that being rated the highest utility globally and a top government agency in Dubai
“is a testament to their vision, resilience, and commitment to shaping a better future for their customers and community.”
The assessment concluded that DEWA outperformed global peers of similar size and complexity, successfully navigating a turbulent period by seizing opportunities and strengthening its transformation-focused policies.
