Day 382 of Israel war with Gaza: Israeli air strikes pound Beirut; famine fears in besieged north Gaza

Israel attacked the Lebanese capital Beirut with a new wave of powerful air strikes overnight after ordering residents in the city’s southern suburb to flee for their lives.
The independent Famine Review Committee of global food security experts warns that action must be taken “within days” to avert famine in northern Gaza and “alleviate this catastrophic situation” amid a monthlong Israeli military siege.
Palestinian children and women account for almost 70 percent of all those killed by Israel’s war on the Gaza Strip, the UN Human Rights Office has found.
Israel’s genocide in Gaza has killed at least 43,508 Palestinians and injured 102,684 since October 7, 2023. An estimated 1,139 people were killed in Israel during the Hamas-led attacks that day and more than 200 were taken captive.
In Lebanon, at least 3,117 people have been killed and 13,888 wounded in Israeli attacks since the war on Gaza began.
