Today marks one year since the beginning of the War of Israel with Gaza. The war is however escalating with Israel, Iran and Lebanon now exchanging missiles.
In the last 24 hours, Israel’s military said it launched attacks against Hamas positions throughout the Gaza Strip on the anniversary of the October 7 attacks, as Israelis held memorials to mourn the victims of the deadly assault a year ago.
Large explosions rocked southern Beirut for another night as Israeli forces continued to pound the Lebanese capital, while at least 10 people were wounded in the Israeli city of Haifa following a Hezbollah rocket attack.
At least nine Palestinian children were among 17 people killed after the Israeli military ordered civilians to immediately flee northern Gaza’s Jabalia refugee camp and began heavy bombardment.
In Gaza, at least 41,870 people have been killed and 97,166 wounded in Israeli attacks since October 2023. In Israel, at least 1,139 people were killed in the Hamas-led attacks on October 7 and more than 200 people were taken captive.
