Beware of blind spots before overtaking, caution Abu Dhabi Police

Abu Dhabi: Police in Abu Dhabi have urged drivers to check the blind spot while overtaking or changing lanes.

Blind spot refers to the area not seen by the driver when looking at the side view mirrors. The driver may therefore mistakenly assume there is no vehicle in the adjacent lane while attempting to change lanes. He or she may hit the other vehicle or swerve suddenly to avoid a collision. This move is dangerous and can lead to an accident.
