VIENNA, 21st April, 2025 (WAM) – The number of asylum applications in Austria fell by one-third in the first quarter of this year, reaching its lowest level since mid-2020.
According to official figures, applications dropped by 33 percent in the first quarter of 2025 compared to the same period last year. Austria received 4,644 applications during the first three months of the year, with March recording just 1,329 applications – the lowest monthly figure since July 2020.
