Failure to pay outstanding fees will result in administrative actions

Abu Dhabi: Public school administrations in Abu Dhabi have called on expatriate parents to fully pay their children’s tuition fees for the 2024-2025 academic year. The annual fees, which do not exceed Dh6,000 per student, must be settled in full to avoid consequences such as withheld exam results, restricted access to educational platforms, and suspension of registration for the next academic year.

Schools have emphasised the importance of paying the third and final tuition installment, noting that April 1 was the deadline for full payment.

Clarification
In official communications sent via digital platforms and text messages, school administrations clarified that these payment requests align with financial regulations designed to ensure uninterrupted educational services.

They stressed that non-payment would result in strict measures, including withholding exam results, blocking access to online learning platforms, and potentially suspending enrollment for the 2025-2026 academic year. Additionally, students with unpaid fees may be denied essential educational and administrative services, which could impact their academic progress.

Timely payments are crucial
Administrators explained that these measures are necessary to maintain the financial stability of educational institutions and uphold the quality of learning without operational disruptions.

Several school officials, speaking anonymously, stated, “Timely tuition payments are crucial for the continuity of academic and administrative services. No exceptions will be made beyond the payment deadline, except in specific cases that will undergo careful review.”

School administrations have urged parents to keep payment receipts for reference and emphasised the importance of collaboration between families and schools to ensure a smooth educational experience.

They also warned that failure to meet payment deadlines could result in delays in student registration for the next academic year and the implementation of additional measures to collect outstanding fees. These may include direct communication with parents and imposing administrative or academic restrictions on non-compliant students.

Mixed reactions
The payment requests have sparked mixed reactions among parents. While some acknowledge the necessity of these measures to ensure financial accountability, others have expressed concerns about the impact of consecutive holidays — including Ramadan, Eid Al Fitr, and the spring break — on their ability to make timely payments.

In response, several public school administrations have assured parents that they are open to reviewing exceptional financial hardship cases. They encouraged affected families to proactively reach out to discuss special arrangements.

With no announced extensions beyond the deadline, schools strongly advise parents to settle their fees in full to avoid disruptions to their children’s education. They reiterated that cooperation between families and educational institutions is vital for a successful learning process.

These measures underscore schools’ commitment to financial discipline and ensuring the sustainability of educational services, ultimately benefiting students’ academic futures.
