Ever heard of a car that flies and a plane that drives?
Yes, this is only possible in UAE.
The PAL-V Liberty, the world’s first commercial flying car, made its first exhibition at the AIM Congress 2025 in Abu Dhabi.
The PAL-V is both a car that flies and a plane that drives.
The Flying Car has united road and air mobility to overcome natural barriers, congestion, and damaged or missing infrastructure while enhancing efficiency and effectiveness, save time.
Speaking to Daily Times News Crew, The Company’s marketing Officer, Mr Beau Metz, said the invention offers transformation solution to modern transportation challenges.
‘ This innovative vehicle combines the functionalities of a car and an aircraft, offering a transformative solution to modern transportation challenges’.
Crafted with a sleek, aerodynamic design, the PAL-V is constructed from high-quality materials such as carbon fiber, titanium, and aluminum, ensuring both durability and lightness.
On the road, it accommodates two passengers and reaches speeds up to 160 km/h, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in under nine seconds.
In the air, it transitions into a gyroplane with a maximum speed of 180 km/h and an operating altitude of up to 3,500 meters. The vehicle boasts a flight range of approximately 400-500 kilometers and an endurance of 4.3 hours on a full tank.
Transitioning between driving and flying modes is achieved in about five minutes.
The process involves unfolding the rotor blades and extending the tail section for flight, while these components retract and fold during driving mode, ensuring compliance with road regulations.
It also offers stable flight characteristics and is less affected by turbulence compared to fixed-wing aircraft.
The vehicle has obtained European road certification, allowing it to operate on public roads, and is in the final stages of securing aviation certification from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).

The flying car is expected to be operational in 2026.
