The Tanzania Trade & Logistics Forum 2026 (TANFORD) concluded over the weekend in Dubai, with delegates expressing satisfaction over the outcomes of the two-day high-level gathering held at the Shangri-La Hotel.

Held under the theme “Connecting Global Trade to Africa’s Heart,” the forum brought together captains of industry, business leaders, entrepreneurs and government officials from Tanzania, the United Arab Emirates and other invited countries. The summit positioned Tanzania as a strategic gateway linking global markets to Africa.

The event’s Guest of Honour, Tanzania’s Minister of Industry and Trade, Hon. Patrobas Paschal Katambi, who was accompanied by the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Hon. Cosato David Chumi, described the forum as an eye-opening experience that is set to grow even bigger in future editions.

Hon. Katambi underscored the importance of expanding engagement beyond Dubai to other emirates such as Ajman and Sharjah, encouraging broader regional participation in global trade and logistics conversations. He said such engagements reinforce Tanzania’s diplomatic outreach and regional trade priorities.

“Tanzania is strategically positioned as a gateway to Africa and the world. Our growing economy, stable political environment and ongoing reforms provide unmatched opportunities for investors,” he said.

He highlighted Tanzania’s expanding industrial base, improving trade infrastructure and investor-friendly reforms, urging international partners to capitalise on emerging opportunities within the country.

The forum featured presentations from various Tanzanian government departments, investment showcases by private companies, diaspora-led business initiatives, panel discussions on trade logistics and cross-border investment, as well as strategic networking sessions aimed at fostering partnerships.

Several companies were recognised with certificates and awards at the close of the summit, including global logistics operator DP World, in acknowledgement of their contribution to trade facilitation and logistics development.

With strong participation from stakeholders across Africa, the Middle East and the diaspora community, TANFORD 2026 closed on a high note, reinforcing Tanzania’s ambition to deepen trade ties and strengthen its role in global supply chains.
