Dubai marked a new milestone in its innovation push as His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum inaugurated the first Middle East edition of the Doers Summit 2025 at Dubai Silicon Oasis.

The two day event drew thousands of innovators and investors, reinforcing the city’s growing role as a global hub for entrepreneurship and technology.

More than 2,500 participants and over 150 speakers joined the opening day, engaging in sessions on AI, fintech, digital infrastructure, climate tech, and sustainable mobility. The Summit, delivered in partnership with The Doers Company, aims to spark collaboration across Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia.

Senior UAE officials attended the ceremony, including HE Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, who highlighted the country’s progress in building a competitive startup ecosystem. He pointed to national efforts such as “The Emirates: The Startup Capital of the World”, the “Future 100” initiative, and the “Thabat” programme, all designed to support entrepreneurs and strengthen the new economy.

Officials also underlined the UAE’s position as a global leader in entrepreneurship, with SMEs making up 95 percent of all companies and more than 1,500 venture backed startups operating nationwide. The country’s top ranking in the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor Report 2024/2025 reflects its strong investment climate and supportive regulatory landscape.

DIEZ Executive Chairman HE Dr. Mohammed Al Zarooni said the Summit aligns with Dubai’s D33 agenda, which targets doubling the city’s economic output and reinforcing its status as a top global hub. International speakers noted Dubai’s rapid digital transformation and its appeal as a base for scaling new technologies.

The event features a full programme of panels, workshops, and case studies highlighting sectors driving global change, from AI to sustainability. Organisers reported strong turnout and engagement, underscoring Dubai’s appeal as a destination for innovation and partnership.
