Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has strengthened its strategic partnership with global technology giant IBM to drive advancements in digital transformation, artificial intelligence (AI), and cybersecurity—key pillars of Dubai’s vision for a knowledge-driven digital economy.
HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, met with Ana Paula De Jesus Assis, IBM’s Senior Vice President and Chair for EMEA, to explore new opportunities for collaboration. The talks centered on supporting the Dubai Economic Agenda “D33,” which seeks to establish Dubai among the world’s top digital economies and promote sustainable, innovation-led growth.
Al Tayer emphasized that the ongoing partnership with IBM underscores DEWA’s commitment to leveraging advanced technologies that enhance operational performance, elevate customer experiences, and protect digital infrastructure. He reaffirmed DEWA’s ambition to become the world’s first AI-native utility through the integration of artificial intelligence across its main operations.
The meeting was attended by senior representatives from both organizations, including executives from DEWA’s digital subsidiary, Moro Hub. Moro currently partners with IBM to deploy the IBM QRadar platform, which enhances cybersecurity through Moro’s state-of-the-art Cybersecurity Operations Centre.
As an IBM-certified Managed Services Partner, Moro Hub provides “Security Operations Centre as a Service” solutions, offering clients advanced threat detection, swift incident response, and continuous monitoring. Future collaboration plans include the expansion of AI-powered solutions based on IBM Watson to accelerate Dubai’s smart transformation agenda across various sectors.
