The Federal Tax Authority (FTA) has launched the Labaih Initiative, a new programme aimed at improving access to tax services for senior citizens across the UAE, underscoring the Authority’s commitment to inclusivity and social responsibility.
The initiative is designed to help senior citizens complete tax applications, submit requests, and meet compliance requirements with greater ease and accuracy, while fully safeguarding their privacy. Support is provided through the FTA’s Call Centre and Taxpayer Support Centres, which have been upgraded with customised processes tailored to the needs of this group.
Labaih introduces simplified and dedicated service pathways to reduce the effort required to navigate tax procedures. These include a Direct Line service managed by a specialised team to handle enquiries and follow up on requests, as well as priority access via the Call Centre and fast-track services at Taxpayer Support Centres.
FTA Director-General Khalid Ali Al Bustani said the initiative reflects the directives of the UAE’s leadership to enhance the quality of life and level of care provided to senior citizens. He described them as a valued pillar of society and acknowledged their significant contributions to the nation’s development.
The initiative also offers electronic access to documents through the FTA website, minimising the need for in-person visits. In addition, tailored awareness programmes—including workshops and introductory sessions—will be rolled out to improve tax awareness and help senior citizens better understand and apply tax legislation.
According to the FTA, the Labaih Initiative aligns with the UAE’s broader social care vision by promoting dignity, privacy, and ease of access, while supporting stronger voluntary tax compliance.
