Recently, the Bank donated 100 medical mattresses to the Zambian people as a way of easing the country’s health burdens while also fulfilling its corporate mandate. Mr. Robert Joseph, the Bank’s CEO said his organization has been consistently donating 100 mattresses on a monthly basis to various African countries with Tanzania, Burundi among the first beneficiaries.
He met the Zambian Consular General, His Excellency, Mr Duncan Mulima at the Zambian Consulate in Dubai, UAE and discussed the donation modalities as well as its importance to the Zambian people. The donation was a major landmark for the African nation as it directly addressed critical shortages while ensuring that hospitals provide better care to their patients. Apart from improving the healthcare infrastructure of developing countries, Mr. Joseph emphasized the need for corporate organizations to come on board and partner with governments and communities in fighting poverty while also improving the quality of life of their citizens.
The CEO further said his organization through the ECB’s philanthropic effort was dedicated to continue supporting African governments in their pursuit of better healthcare services and improved social life.
