ABU DHABI — Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, held a phone call with Donald Trump, President of the United States, on Sunday to discuss escalating developments in the region and their implications for international security.
According to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), the leaders reviewed the latest security situation in the Middle East amid ongoing tensions linked to Iran.
During the conversation, the two presidents addressed what officials described as continued Iranian attacks targeting the UAE and other countries in the region. The strikes were characterised as blatant violations of national sovereignty and a serious threat to regional stability.
Both leaders discussed the broader implications of the attacks on regional and international security and reaffirmed the importance of maintaining stability in the Gulf.
The call comes as tensions continue to rise following a series of missile and drone interceptions reported by UAE defence authorities in recent days.
