The UAE has reaffirmed its commitment to deepening economic relations with Italy following a high-level meeting between Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of Foreign Trade, and the Italian Business Council in the UAE.
Al Zeyoudi highlighted the strong trajectory of bilateral trade, which reached US$14 billion in 2024, a 19.7% increase from the previous year. Italy ranked as the UAE’s leading non-oil trade partner within the European Union and 12th globally, accounting for 1.7% of the country’s total global trade.
In the first half of 2025, trade flows rose to US$7.9 billion, reflecting a 14.6% year-on-year increase. Discussions during the meeting focused on expanding private sector collaboration, with priority areas including technology, renewable energy, healthcare, and infrastructure.
Al Zeyoudi emphasized that both nations are eager to pursue sustainable and innovative projects that generate long-term value, create jobs, and support mutual growth. The meeting concluded with a joint pledge to strengthen cooperation and explore new opportunities that reinforce the UAE-Italy economic partnership.
