Dubai, UAE – The Tanzanian Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates His Excellency Lt. Gen. Yacub Mohammed on Friday hosted a special IFTAR for Tanzanian business leaders, captains of industry based the UAE.
The gathering brought together prominent Tanzanian entrepreneurs, investors, and professionals residing in the UAE, all of whom are playing key roles in various sectors such as trade, real estate, finance, tourism, and construction.
Also in attendance was the Vice Chairperson of the Tanzania Diaspora Mr Donald Kangwa, Exim Credit Bank CEO, Mr Joseph Warobya.
Addressing the gathering, the ambassador emphasized the importance of collaboration among the diaspora community and encouraged them to explore investment opportunities back home.
He further highlighted the critical role of the Tanzanian business community in the UAE in strengthening economic ties between the two nations and urged attendees to leverage their experiences, resources, and networks to contribute to Tanzania’s growing economy.
“We need to exchange ideas on how to take the responsibility and collaborate to implement democracy of our economy for all people from Tanzania. Your success here in the UAE is a testament to the potential Tanzanians have. Now is the time to work together, collaborate, and bring innovative ideas that can transform Tanzania’s economy,” he said.
The event also featured discussions on key areas where investment and expertise from the diaspora could significantly impact Tanzania’s development. These included infrastructure, technology, agriculture, and finance.
Several business leaders expressed their willingness to invest in strategic projects that could generate employment opportunities and enhance the country’s economic landscape.
The Iftar gathering not only fostered unity among Tanzanian professionals in the UAE but also served as a call to action for the diaspora to play an active role in the country’s economic transformation.
As the evening concluded, the ambassador urged business leaders to continue engaging in constructive discussions and to take tangible steps toward investing in Tanzania.
