International Congress for Joint Reconstruction Concludes in Dubai with Focus on Robotics and AI
The 12th International Congress for Joint Reconstruction, Middle East (ICJR ME) wrapped up today at Dubai’s Jumeirah Emirates Towers Hotel, drawing 1,000 doctors and surgeons from 20 countries.
The event spotlighted the growing role of robotics and artificial intelligence (AI) in joint replacement surgeries, emphasizing the need for advanced training and precision in their application.
Dr. Samih Tarabichi, President of the Congress and organizer of the event, underscored the transformative potential of these technologies in modern surgery. While AI and robotics are revolutionizing joint replacements, he stressed that proper training is essential to harness their full benefits and minimize risks.
“These tools are meant to support doctors, not replace them,”
he said, urging attendees to consider both the advantages and limitations of each technique.
The conference showcased over 130 scientific lectures and 21 sessions, covering breakthroughs in joint design, 3D printing, and robotic surgery techniques. Complex cases were presented, and workshops provided hands-on training for doctors to refine their skills.
ICJR, an independent non-profit organization, announced plans to expand its regional presence by adding four more countries alongside the UAE and Egypt. Additionally, the organization will increase its Illinois Board of Directors meetings to four annually and conduct 16 training courses across the region to ensure surgeons are up-to-date with technological advancements.
Looking ahead, ICJR will launch a new website next year to facilitate global exchanges among medical professionals, furthering its mission to improve patient outcomes through cutting-edge education and innovation in orthopedics.
