UAE Launches Fathers’ Endowment Campaign to Honor Dads and Support Healthcare for the Needy
In line with the “Year of Community” initiative launched by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has introduced the Fathers’ Endowment campaign.
This AED1 billion initiative, which aims to provide treatment and healthcare to the underprivileged, was launched during the holy month of Ramadan.
The Fathers’ Endowment campaign is part of the UAE’s ongoing tradition of charitable and humanitarian initiatives, reflecting a commitment to sustainable philanthropy. Proceeds from the endowment will be used to improve healthcare systems, fund hospital developments, and supply necessary treatments for those who cannot afford them.
In his statement, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed emphasized the importance of fathers as role models and guides, stating,
“Fathers are our first role models, supporters, and teachers, guiding us with strength and wisdom.”
He called on everyone to contribute, fostering stronger family bonds and embodying the spirit of Ramadan and the Year of Community.
Mohammed Al Gergawi, Secretary-General of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI), highlighted that the campaign also reflects the UAE’s deeply rooted culture of giving and generosity, which has been demonstrated in previous Ramadan initiatives.
The Fathers’ Endowment will honor parents, promote social solidarity, and offer sustainable healthcare solutions. By allowing donations in fathers’ names, the initiative reinforces the values of honoring parents while strengthening the UAE’s position as a global leader in philanthropic efforts. This campaign aims to provide access to healthcare for millions of underserved individuals worldwide.
