Alternative Visa-Free Destinations for UAE Residents Amid National Day Travel Surge
As airfares to popular visa-free destinations like Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan spike by up to 300% for the upcoming National Day holiday, with round-trip tickets surpassing Dh2,800, UAE residents may want to consider other visa-free options that offer more affordable travel opportunities.
“Travel demand during the National Day holiday from November 30 to December 3 is always high,”
said Bharath Aidasani, Managing Partner at Pluto Travels.
“This year, the unexpected surge in prices for popular destinations from the UAE has surprised many, despite advance planning by residents.”
However, travel experts suggest that UAE residents can still explore more budget-friendly visa-free destinations such as Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Seychelles, and Zanzibar, where airfare prices remain relatively lower.
“Destinations like Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan are always in demand, but currently, Uzbekistan, Seychelles, Zanzibar, and Kazakhstan present more affordable options,”
said Pavan Poojary, Travel Consultant at Luxury Travel.
“These visa-on-arrival countries for most UAE residents offer ideal alternatives during the National Day holiday.”
Beach Destinations
For those seeking a beach escape, Seychelles and the Maldives remain top choices for UAE residents, offering pristine beaches, crystal-clear waters, and a tranquil environment perfect for relaxation.
“Due to high demand, we recommend securing seats well in advance,”
Aidasani advised.
Mountain Destinations
For adventure seekers and mountain enthusiasts, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan provide stunning landscapes, rugged terrains, and rich cultural experiences.
“With a travel time of less than four hours, these destinations are ideal for short breaks,”
said Geoffrey Salatan, CEO of Geof Travel.
Scenic Landscapes
Zanzibar is also attracting significant interest among UAE residents for its breathtaking landscapes.
“Zanzibar offers some of the world’s most picturesque views, making it a preferred choice for those seeking a unique experience,”
Poojary noted.
As inquiries for these destinations surge, industry experts advise booking early to avoid steep price hikes as the National Day holiday draws nearer.
